Lalia Helmer M.S. Ed., M.A. Psy. Industrial Organization and Behavior CPC, Certified Professional Coach
 |
My experience has spanned over 20 years in the areas of counseling, coaching, training and development. I have worked with professionals and executives, as well as with teams in corporations, non-profits and education. I began my career in behavioral change improvement in clinical settings where I gained a respect for the differences in personalities and thought processes of every individual and an understanding of the complexities of group functioning. I have facilitated workshops and training sessions in communication skills for problem solving, conflict resolution and mediation, team building, dialogue and executive team development. |
Having coached and trained executives from high-tech industries, I developed an understanding and a model of the relationship of the key interpersonal competencies necessary for the success of the high-tech leader. My education and experience in organization development has lead me to deliver a unique process for helping professionals develop their careers in ways that are in alignment with organizational goals. I am passionate about supporting every individual in development of their potential within the context of their work life.
I am a member of the Association for Psychological Type and the Bay Area Association for Training and Development. I am currently working towards an Appreciative Inquiry Certificate in Positive Business and Society Change from Case Western's Weatherhead School of Management. I am trained and qualified in the administration of career and leadership assessments and their interpretation. My specialty is working with executives and professionals in career transition, with leaders in high-tech, entrepreneurs and management teams. My clients list includes executives from Hewlett Packard, Applied Materials, Strategy Capital, Cadence Design Systems, as well as many local community organizations. I am a guest lecturer for the Department of Organization and Management at the San Jose State University College of Business.
My private coaching includes personal sessions augmented by phone and e-mail coaching. I also do career development workshops and group coaching sessions.
